1️⃣ Prepare the surface – Take the coated sample and mark a straight line using the supplied marker pen. 2️⃣ Make a precise cut – Using the Elcometer 141, make a perpendicular cut through the coating down to the substrate. 3️⃣ Measure with the microscope – Use the x50 magnification microscope to count graticule divisions. 4️⃣ Calculate the thickness – Multiply the graticule count by the graticule scale factor to determine the coating thickness.
