Depending on the content of aluminium oxide (Al2O3) and the methodobtaining corundum can be:
- Brown Corundum is included in the electro-corundum group. It is produced bycontrolled melting of calcined bauzite in an electric arc furnace. The properties of the brown fused alumina are: iron-free and extremly tough.
- Noble Corundum - due to its angular shape and hardness, noble corundum abrasive has a powerfull effect, presents a highpurity is extremely hard, brittle and has a very high melting point. It is ideal abrasive material for the most demanding applications.
