Preparation of floors for the application of coverings
27.02.2017
Depending on the condition of the flooring and its final destination, different equipment can be used for preparing the substrate:
Blasting equipment with recovery
Blasting equipment with recovery is used when cleaning and preparing concrete, asphalt, and stone surfaces, removing top layers of paint or epoxy, markings, and rubber. The process allows for creating adhesion for the subsequent application of new coating layers. The closed circuit makes it possible to use the equipment in areas where dust is not tolerated. Additionally, blasting equipment with recovery reduces the amount of abrasive used to a quarter, compared to open jet blasting. In this way, significant savings can be achieved in operational costs.
Grinding equipment
Grinding equipment is ideal for leveling and bringing uneven surfaces to as flat a plane as possible, without removing too much material. They are perfect for removing old paints, coatings, adhesives and help reduce the amount of coating materials (paint or resin) for the new floor. They can be easily used for grinding areas with limited access.
Scarifying equipment
Scarifying equipment is used for removing hard and thick layers of concrete, asphalt, and other hard materials. They help with the removal of tough coatings (paint, plastic coatings, glues, and adhesives, rubber, and other types of covering materials) and cleaning and leveling uneven floors.
The scarifying depth can be adjusted depending on the thickness of the material to be removed.
