Highly efficient industrial painting solutions

One of the most efficient ways to increase productivity and improve the quality of painting applications is through using airless painting pumps. They allow quick and smooth operations, and an efficient control of the quantity of paint that is supposed to be used during application.
For better results it is recommended to measure the thickness of the paint layer, in both wet and dry formats. For instance as long as the paint for industrial applications contains 50% solid substance, when the wet layer registers 100 µm, the dry version of it will be 50 µm.
If the wet version extends the optimal value with 10 to 20 µm, it means that for painting 1000 m2 , 25 liters of paint would be extra wasted. Furthermore, if the paint layer is to thick, there is a risk of deterioration during drying process, which would generate extra repair costs.
Otherwise, if the paint layer is to thin, the surface to be treated would not benefit form the proper anticorrosive protection.
In conclusion, for obtaining the ideal paint layer, it is recommended to permanently control the thickness of the wet film while using Elcometer 112. For shorting the inspection time, one can choose to work with a mobile digital instrument, namely with Elcometer 456.
The relation between these two measurements indicates the percentage of solid components existing in the paint and its overall quality. The higher the percentage, the smaller the amount of painting layers to be used which will in the end, reduce also the necessary drying time.
