High-tech for industrial painting applications
19.08.2016
Graco recently launched E-Xtreme – the first electric painting pump that was licensed to be used in ATEX areas. E-Xtreme is working with an electric source of power, which makes it safer, more accessible and more convenient than pumps powered by compresed air. Furthermore, the electric technology reduces eventual pulsations and the risk of engine icing.
The electric pumps have series of advantages in comparison to compressed air technology as they eliminate the possibility of incorrect function of the equipment, or the temporary inactivity of the compressor.
The replacement of the pneumatic engine reduces the risk of its icing. This generally appears when the working conditions imply high humidity. In such cases the engine runs slower and the pressure goes lower with immediate impact on the production process and the final painting results. E-Xtreme represents the electric solution able to insure the constancy of the painting process in each shipyard.
Furthermore the electric pump improves the working terms, as the level of noise during the painting process is 5 times lower than in case of using pneumatic pumps. The new product from Graco works with 24OV/16A and can be used with any type of industrial painting no matter how high the percentage of solid compounds it might have.
In case no plug is available in the working area, the pump can be connected to a mobile generator.
E-Xtreme is the first painting pump licensed for ATEX areas
In comparison to other similar products, E-Xtreme can be safely used in ATEX areas, in the chemical industry, painting halls, offshore applications, oil and gas industry and in any other industrial facilities with high fire risk.
Relevant reduction of energy consumption
With a series of extra functionalities and a reduced acquisition cost, E-Xtreme is one of the most efficient painting solutions especially when compared to pneumatic versions. Using the electric technology one can save up to 80% of the energy consumption. Furthermore, Graco offers an extended guarantee period, which goes up to 3 years for the electric engine and up to 1 year for the electronic components of the equipment.
